Sony Ericsson Satio Review

I’ve been waiting for the Satio to come out for a really long time. It was announced over a year ago but it took a very long time to actually finish production, so I’ve been sticking with my old phone until I managed to find a brand new Satio last week. The reason I’m so excited is because the Satio mixes two of my favourite phone brands, the Cybershot and the Walkman, into a single phone. So here is my personal Sony Ericsson Satio review for your information.

Previously I’ve had to choose if I wanted a phone geared towards music or one that could take great pictures. I find both of these elements are pretty important in a phone, so now the Satio handset has decided to combine them both I couldn’t be happier. From a week of using the phone it’s already apparent that they’ve cut no corners in bringing both these brands together.

Having a 12.1 MegaPixel phone really makes a difference if you like taking pictures. I have a good camera, but I don’t take it with me everywhere I go, so some of the best picture moments that just spring up can only be taken with a mobile. Now with the Satio I can happily take pictures whenever I want and still get a good quality picture at a high resolution that looks great printed out – it makes a bit difference.

The multimedia quality hasn’t been sacrificed to make room for the camera though. There’s a wide range of options and settings available and all the usual Sony Walkman software is there, which is really easy to use because of Sony use the same software over a range of different devices. That it’s used on some of the best known mp3 players in the world suggests that it’s pretty high quality!

Overall I’ve found the Sony Satio to be a really great handset that puts over multimedia phones to shame. It’s an absolute must if you enjoy using your phone to take pictures but it’s also got great software and is a very functional phone and internet browser as well. It’s been worth the wait and I actually have enjoyed writing this short, but sweet, Satio review.
