Lexus LS-460: Loaded With High Technology Gadgets

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

This year would be the time when the automobile world and the rest of the market would come to know the 2007 Lexus LS-460. This vehicle would soon be rolling out of its manufacturing and assembly plants and would be later on shipped to the auto market of North America for sale. Now this new one would hold more technology features compared to all the other vehicles that are offered at present. This is according to the Telematics Research Group (TRG).One of the major features that the 2007 Lexus LS-460 has to offer is the factory-installed 30GB hard drive disk that could be used not only for music but for navigation as well. Although the 2007 Lexus LS-460 is not the only one to offer a hard disk with a great amount of space, it is important to note that the Mercedes Benz S-Class (the other vehicle that offers such a feature) is only able to use such a feature for navigation purposes.

Aside from the 30GB hard drive, the 2007 Lexus LS-460 also has cameras. These cameras are actually installed for the purposes of lane departure warning as well as park assist. This vehicle holds three cameras and these would lend out an eye during parking. These would also help out in warning the driver when the 2007 Lexus LS-460 veers out of the lane.

Other features that this high-technology packed vehicle has include a touch-screen and voice activated navigation system, a Bluetooth phone control, monitored telematics, live traffic reports, as well as a 19-inch speaker audio system that is able to read compressed audio formats like MP3.

According to Phil Magney, the president and principal analyst of TRG, claims, “The 2007 Lexus LS-460 includes more technology that any other passenger vehicle offered for sale in the US. Based on our criteria of 30 technology features in the areas of telematics, infotainment, and driver assist technologies, the 2007 Lexus LS-460 scores the highest of all vehicles.”

Online Publisher Workflow

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Publishers need to be aware of how online platforms affect workflow, and how mobile can be used to serve their digital editions.

Licensing software

Licensing the software can make a lot of sense. You get something well tested, technically supported, and often with free upgrades. The upgrades are what can kill publishers who decide to build from scratch.

Without an upgrade every two to three years, the site depreciates. The evolution of technology, together with reader expectations, is forcing digital editions to adopt new operating systems, browsers and platforms.

Licensing vendors charge a setup fee – usually a basic package license and additional costs for extras. Some vendors charge a per-page fee (say $2 per page), while others may charge a monthly fee.

If you choose the software license approach, expect to pay about $75,000 to $100,000. Two models follow thereafter: either the vendor runs the digital edition and charges fees to do so; or the publisher hires and trains staff.

In the long run, managing resources in-house is more economically viable. Otherwise, publishers lose the quality, speed and efficiency of their newsroom.

People and training

Publishing, particularly scholarly publishing, is a complex process involving people and technology. The long-term viability of useful web content is secured only by a strong back-end operation and a devoted staff.

Workflow imperatives

Assembly of the digital edition should not be a separate workflow from creating the print edition. An efficient way to integrate both is through a fully automated PDF to XML processing and workflow system.

XML processing systems must be language-independent and capable of processing very high volumes of publications quickly. It can include artificial intelligence to speed up decision-making.

Adobe’s suite of creative products, permit designers and editors to publish XML content for this very reason.

Recruiting software

Monday, October 26th, 2009

If you are planning to recruit employees in the most sophisticated way then probably your human resource department will be responsible for all these. Recruitment is not an easy process, actually you need to go through many factors like the age, work experience in the relevant industry and the education qualification of the supposed employee. The factors that I have stated above is only the basic factors there are some other factors that also becomes very important depend on the purpose and the work environment of the employee.

Application tracking software becomes very important if you use them with your website, because these are just attached with your company website and make your website more attractive and user friendly. A major function of recruiting software programs is that they can make use of the employment part of a company’s website. The software can make a list of jobs available with the company. Web surfers can click on jobs they are interested in and immediately be taken to a description of the job.

These days many companies are using the recruiting software to hire employees. These software are not only reduce the cost of the selection procedure but also make it more clear to decide that weather the particular employee is eligible for the work environment or not. Recruiting software also becomes very helpful in maintaining the application track of the employees. This is the basic reason why they are also known as the application tracking software.
