The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 is the compact digital camera featuring the modern hybrid control system. The system integrates with touch screen facility and joystick control. The touch screen operation is used for AF/AE, slide show functions and manual operations and the joystick is used for basic functions.

This Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 digital camera has a built-in display form factor with display format of 230,000 pixels. The display technology used is TFT active matrix with LCD type. The auto exposure bracketing have 3 steps in 1/3 EV step with an exposure compensation about +/- 2 EV range. The exposure metering are multi segment, centre weighted and spot.

The exposure modes are shutter priority, program, manual, automatic and aperture priority. The shooting programs included are sunset, starry sky, sports mode, soft skin, snow, self-portrait, pet, night scene, high sensitivity, candle, beach, baby1, baby2, aerial and more. Maximum operating temperature is 40 degree centigrade.

The lens system of this Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 features built-in lens shield with Aspherical lens. The focal length is 25-125 mm with automatic focus adjustment. The element qty is 7 and the group qty is 6. The lens aperture is F/2.8-5.9 with the optical zoom of 5x. The zoom adjustment can be done with a motorized drive zooming lens.
